Dashing Derek is Wellie Race personality

CHAMPION hurler Derek Lyng of Kilkenny’s four-in-a-row All-Ireland winning team is the Castlecomer Wellie Race personality for 2010.

Lyng will be a hugely popular choice and perhaps it is fitting that one of kings of Kilkenny hurling should fill the hot seat as one of the South East’s finest annual events celebrates its 30th birthday.
Bumper crowds are expected in the North Kilkenny town on New Year’s Day. Locals will as usual be joined by friends and supporters from all around the country.
