LOOKING resplendent in her curlers and wellies, local woman Eileen Brennan was crowned Castlecomer Wellie Queen at a nail-biting final in Shortall’s Pub in the North Kilkenny town last night.

Perhaps it was apt that a Brennan should be selected to lead the 30th wellie race in ’Comer as there are more Brennans in the town than there are fish in the sea!
