I browse with Firefox on a Mac.  I did this: "installed the Greasemonkey and the little icon shows at the bottom right of my page."  I am at http://twitter.com/friends.  And got the same result: "When I right click on it the only options are: New User Script, Manage User Scripts and Enabled with a check beside it.  What am I doint wrong?"

What a good idea!

So I couldn't get this to work right away, but I figured it out pretty quickly.
First, try going to http://www.Twitter.com/following instead of /friends.
Otherwise, right-click on the monkey head and go to manage scripts and add the domain http://twitter.com/friends.

I've followed the instructions but there are no green buttons for people who are not following back. Tested it with Matt Damons twitter. I do see a little message next to the Greasemonkey icon saying twiter.com with a locked padlock.  Has twitter stopped this script working?

I just checked my script and it is still working ok, I was thinking Twitter might have made some changes to their code that might stop it working.
 
Are you in http://twitter.com/friends ? It won't work if you look at your followers list.
 
I'll have a bigger look into it and see what I can dig up!
 
Sorry about the delay getting back, I took a holiday for myself this weekend!

I used to have this running, but for some reason, when I restarted my computer, I could not see the remove marked button on the bottom of my screen again.  I discarded the old script, reloaded both Greasemonkey and the script again, restarted Firefox several times, right clicked the monkey on the bottom of Firefox and checked "Twitter - Remove Non-Followers" but nothing appears on the bottom of my page as before.  No Remove Marked button at all.
Any suggestions?

I really, really, wanted this script.
I've downloaded the Greasemonkey thingy.
I've restarted my firefox 3 browser.
I downloaded the script.
I got an error alert that the WSYSIG toolbar wasn't there? Not a darn thing happens when I go to Twitter.com/friends except that I see a list of people I follow. There's no "remove button highlighted green". 
Grrr! Annoying. Very annoying since I do not know how to fix this. What toolbar is missing? Whatcha talking about, Elfie?
 

Through friendorfollow I found out there were over 400 users who did not follow me back and I thought I had to delete them manually, but thanks to this script I don't. I also will never use an auto-follow service ever again...

Great find! I used an auto-follow service a while back and I ended up following thousands of people, and only a few followed back, made me look like a spam bot!
