Windows Vista Screen Color Scheme Problems
Hi Elf,
I recently bought a new computer, and got Vista Home Premium. when the computer is turned on a pop up bubble from the bottom right tool bar says that the colour scheme has been changed to Vista Basic because a running programme isn't supported or something like that.
Yours Sincerly,
Ross Williams
Hi Ross
This can be an annoyance at times! Sometimes this is caused by an issue with TMM, TMM is Transient Multi-Monitor Manager, which is a Windows Vista feature that simplifies the setup of display configurations on mobile computers. This can cause problems like this.
Here's how to disable it:
1. Open the Control Panel, make sure classic view is selected in the left side bar.
A) Click on Administrative Tools -> Computer Management.2. Click Continue for the UAC prompt.
3. In the left pane, expand Task Scheduler, Task Scheduler Library, Microsoft, Windows, and click on MobilePC.
4. In the middle pane, right click on TMM.
5. Click on Disable.
7. Close Task Scheduler.
8. Restart your computer.
In most cases this will fix the problem.
If this doesn't work, reply back to me using the comment box below and we can dig deeper to get it sorted.
Thanks for your question.
